And we’re out of here!

Submissions are all handed in, presentations done and dusted and the sun has come out (although momentarily) to kick off what’s sure to be a brilliant five and a half months of summer. Not only that but it’s got off to a flying start already. I returned to the green, green grass of home for the two weeks of the Easter holidays to relax and spend some well overdue time with my family who have been so incredibly supportive throughout my first year of university and for that I am eternally grateful. I also got to spend some Q time with some of my favourite people, the highlight being the last Saturday of the holidays, sitting in the sun, watching rugby with some glorious people before spending the night on the town.

My plans for summer are somewhat blurred, with hints of clarity as I already have lots of things planned but nothing at the same time. Holidays are being booked and dates are being thrown into the diary ready to pack the holidays with memories.

Before then, I’m going to let myself pause for some reflection on my first year as a university student. I started uni life rather apprehensive about my abilities and what was to come, but soon found my feet and built up a clear and concise knowledge of not only the music industry and the field that I love but people and relationships as well. I’ve been so lucky with a handful of the people I’ve met and made some bonds that I hope will never be broken. I’ve come across some souls that are like mine and found my soul mates in friends and in a special someone.

I’ve also been lucky to have picked a subject that I absolutely adore. You hear some people say, “I’ve never thought, oh my god I want to quit” and I thought I had that moment in a few things, but they never lasted. Music has always been in my blood and it’s something that has been present throughout my life. As a little girl, and a young teenager I tried my best to be the creative, I tried to learn how to play instruments, I tried to learn how to sing, I tried to learn how to be a good actress, but I never had enough confidence to pursue it. Not once have I thought of quitting. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every second of it and I’m itching for my second year to begin. I’ve been taught and mentored by the best in my field and have had the pleasure of meeting some brilliant music minds that are my peers.

We’ve had a fantastic first year, let’s just hope our second year is better still!.

If you haven’t noticed as well, this is the last blog post of April (even though I didn’t post last week… Or the week before) which means it’s monthly video time. With submissions and presentations taking priority this month, the video is substantially shorter than last months but it’s a good one, with an appearance from one of my favourite country musicians. If I haven’t already told you, give the video a watch to find out who! For those of you who still have hand-ins and exams to go, I wish you the best of luck and roll on summer.

Speak to you soon,

In summer!

Hello my lovelies!

Hope you’re all having a good week so far! It’s been lovely to be home and I’m finally starting to relax after a stressful last week in uni. I’ve managed to finish two of my essays and I have one to go which I’m dreading to be quite honest. I don’t really know what I’m doing with it so fingers crossed that it’ll just come to me.

Summer is around the corner and I cannot wait. My wardrobe is going to be completely re vamped and I will look like one of those girls on Instagram who have perfect clothes and hair and make-up. My hair and make-up may not cooperate but a girl can dream.

I’ve got so many exciting things coming up throughout the entire summer which is great and Dan and I will be going on our first holiday together, and his first holiday for that matter.

I wanted to just point out something that I mentioned a few times in the first couple of weeks of writing this blog, which I am super proud of myself for keeping up for this long, which is… My friends are amazing. My house is currently being completely re decorated and as a result I don’t have a bedroom at the moment. My friends and my friends’ families have continuously offered me places to stay and to feed me daily if needed. Not only that, one of my favourite people in the world has even offered me to stay in her house while she’s on her holidays this week. When the people I look up to and consider to be my family do things like this it makes me realise how lucky I am to have such amazing people in my life.

So if you’re reading this and you are one of those people, thank you, you make me feel like a very loved and lucky young lady.

They are my sunshine, so please don’t take my sunshine away.

Please let me know what you’d like me to talk about next week and like and share this very short (but hopefully, sweet) post and I’ll speak to you soon.

Lols xx

It’s my last week :(

Hey guys,

I cannot believe that it is my last week of my first year in university. It’s been a huge whirlwind and a completely new experience but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. It’s really solidified my career plans and made it apparent what field I’d like to work in.

This weeks post is just going to be a little memoir of my favourite moments of my first year in London.

Number 1:

My first favourite moment of uni life has got to be freshers week (obviously). I met so many amazing people over the two weeks (including Daniel) and they’re definitely friends that I hope I will share the rest of uni life and music career with.

Number 2:

Number 2 has got to be my weekly visit to Emily’s flat, where she would feed me and provide me with hours of endless laughter! I’ve found an amazing friend in her and she is absolutely smashing our second and last semester. Along with all of our other adventures of course along with visiting her at home in Essex and getting to meet all of her friends. She’s a good egg.

Number 3:

My last, although not the last, is getting to share this amazing experience with my best friend who I’ve had the pleasure of living with, also. We’ve had quite a rocky experience, for reasons I’m not going to share on here of course, but I wouldn’t change it for the world and I cannot wait to find somewhere for us to live next year and having another great year living together :). We’ve both got some exciting things coming up as well so again I can’t wait to share them with her as we both progress in our careers.

Obviously I have more than three favourite moments but if I were to write them all on here you would get way too bored and the post would be way too long.

I didn’t post last week because I was travelling back from home and unfortunately I’ve been hit with the JDM this week and have really been struggling with fatigue this week. The stress of presentations at the end of this week and essays due at the end of the month has made me feel a little unwell.

It’s monthly video time again! So go over and watch it on the link below! Again been a very short post but at least you’ve got one eh?

I hope you’ve all had a good two weeks and I hope you enjoy the video!

Speak to you soon,

Lols xx
